At this point in the process Scarlet starts to look a lot like someone we know! I set her pretty dark blue eyes. Because Scarlet has very full eyelashes, created a double strip so her doll looks even more like her. I sealed her eyes with resin so they will be shiny and protected. I even stretched her cheeks a little to better get the shape of her face.
Once all that good stuff has cured, this little lady is ready to go home! How to Trim Big Girl Bangs Slide Show With Scarlet's painting all done we're ready to get rooting! She has very thick hair rooted with Collector's Traditional Doll hair plugs in Ruby Red Curve. I love how the bend in the mohair always frames her face!
While you might be worried about how much Halloween candy you need to buy, my head is 100% in Christmas. I'm already busy making sure that babies who need to be on Santa's Sleigh Christmas Eve will get there on time. Well, I guess I'm not the only one managing my Holiday deadlines... I'm excited to begin little Scarlet! Scarlet was commissioned by a loving Aunt who wants her niece to have a doll that looks just like her! I'm especially excited about this doll because she will be the first doll I create from the Apply Valley Doll Works 18" Girlfriends line. At last, an American Girl Truly Me sized doll that really looks like your child! First, we did some experimentation in polymer clay to see if I could achieve even greater likeness. Once I felt good about the clay part, I started prepping the doll kit. She was a little pink for Scarlet's complexion, so I neutralized the vinyl a bit. Now we're ready to bring her to life!
