T'was the week before Christmas
At CustomDollBaby.com Babies raced to get ready To go home to their Moms! The last several days seem like a blur. Rooting, wig making, gluing, sealing, stuffing, weighting...All the final details need to come together so all my Christmas babies are dressed up, packed up and shipped by end of day Monday. Every second counts because it's the final countdown! And I'm running with Elf-Like Precision, training for Christmas Day!

I've been running so fast on my Christmas babies that I sometimes forget to stop and report on progress! I'm wrapping up the complexion layers and starting to add detail to the palms and soles. She's looking great so far!
Like I said, Anastasia's mommy is not big on veining. So, we're going to let the blue shading layer accomplish for us what the veining would have done: creating the illusion of blood flowing under the skin. It's nice to have options. LOL She's looking very lovely so far! I'll be getting pictures of the real baby in the mail soon so we can start painting her complexion! Wondering what blue shading is all about? Check out the tutorial! While you might be worried about how much Halloween candy you need to buy, my head is 100% in Christmas. I'm already busy making sure that babies who need to be on Santa's Sleigh Christmas Eve will get there on time. Well, I guess I'm not the only one managing my Holiday deadlines... I'm exited to begin baby Anastasia Delane! Baby Anastasia is a portrait doll based on a picture of a real baby. We will be creating her from Chanel by Donna RuBert. I'm working on Anastasia concurrently with Alissa Beth, so she's already had her bath, base coat, mottling and veining. Mom's not big on veining, so I painted them extra light. ;) More to come! |
