Rule #1: Bake if you're worried your next layer will mess up the layer you just paintedThe beauty of Genesis Heat Set Paints is the incredible freedom we have to work with the paint before it cures. The benefit: our paint remains move-able and blend-able until we put it in the oven. The catch: our paint remains move-able and blend-able until we put it in the oven. If you just completed a layer that you want to neither move nor blend, it's time to cure. Layers that meet this criteria include:
On the other hand, do not bake a layer that you intend to blend. For example, I do 2 to 6 mottling layers on my dolls. I like for these layers to blend with one another, so I do not bake between each one. I bake after all the mottling is done. Same with some blushing steps. Rule #2: Always let it dry, no matter whatOne hard and fast rule of Genesis Heat Set Painting is to always let it dry, no matter what you plan to do next. We use odorless paint thinners to make the paint loose and move-able. Always allow these solvents to evaporate completely before you paint on top of it and before you bake it. This stuff is flammable, so we don't want to put wet paint in a hot oven. Also, solvents make your work shiny and difficult to see. I always carefully inspect my work before I cure, but I don't really know what I have until the paint is dry. Guideline: How I do itI try not to over-prescribe because reborning is an art and art requires freedom. However, if it helps, here's a quick guide to when I bake:

Kim it's me again I mess The routing of my doll Tayla which is a preemie it has too much too I got mixed up and instead of routing from the crown to the face I did the face to the crown if I was to cut those hairs out would leave holes in the dolls head . Or should I just cut it more like in a thin pixie so she would look more like a preemie and maybe send it closer to the scalp or what should I do I definitely know better the next time . I know you've probably had Joshua by now congratulations and I hope you can get back with me soon

Thanks for getting back with me Kim so fast. I guess Joshua feel safe so he's going to hang in for a while ha ha. But wishing you the very best on Friday you'll be a blessing to see and hold. I cut her but I didn't cut her hair that short I think I rooted to much hair for a preemie is there anyway that I can pull some of the hair underneath the longer hair out and if I can with the tweezers what will remove some of the glue because her hair looks like a much older doll. Or is there a way that I can take it off her whole head and re-route it very lightly is it possible that the holes will close up or maybe not be noticeable or maybe I could re-sealed ahead I'm very disappointed I just wanted it to look like a little preemie do you have any other suggestions I really don't want to buy a new head because I've done a real good job I think on this one I will send you a picture when I'm finished of course I've got to get someone to help me do it I'm not too good at sending pictures with my phone and that's all that I have thank you again so much have a blessed day 2/15/2017 01:57:48 pm

I baked my reborn and the parts of the reborn that were touching the bottom of the Nuwave came off when I wiped the legs. How can I prevent this from happening? Do I bake on both sides or alternate? Thank you!!

Ugh. My first reborn ever. I was doing so good. Then I noticed that on the backs of both legs I forgot to blend in the creases before I baked - I was focusing on the feet creases and simply forgot them. They look terrible! Is there a way to minimize this mistake? I just want them to look more blended out. Thanks.
