Making my way across the top of the head. This hair is sooo soft!

With the rooting plan complete, I'm now ready to start adding Helaina's fine baby hair one to two strands at a time. We've got a long way to go!

I am honored and humbled to have the opportunity to create Reborn Hades in loving memory of Hades Timothy-Patrick Finnearty, who passed away on Friday, September 4, 2015. He was due on Monday, May 9, 2016 and finally arrived three months later as a big three-month old reborn baby doll on Monday, August 1, 2016.
View the entire photo shoot at:http://customdollbaby.com/reborn-memorial-easton-by-michelle-fagan.html Since Hades is such a large baby with so much hair, I have had to invest in some professional equipment. A beauticians manikin stand is great to have when trimming reborn hair. It's adjustable, easy to install and makes it much easier to reach your work. Due to artist illness, it took me much longer than expected to complete Joshua. Of course, mommy got a little lonely. So here's some pics to say, "Hi Mom!"
I've always wanted to make a fantasy reborn. Before we cut his hair, Hades is looking pretty fantastic!
Loving Hades' skin texturing and rooted reborn eyebrows. He has human hair, but the eyebrows are mohair and the lashes are a strip. Just gorgeous!
Mottling is a great way of creating the appearance of blood flowing under the skin by working beautiful patterns in different colors in multiple layers. Jase is being created from Realborn Summer Rain by Bountiful Baby.
Actually, it's not really hot sauce. But doesn't it look like it?
Many artists complain that the vinyl used to create the Realborn doll kits pulls grays. In other words, it is very difficult to get the "dull" color out of the skin. My solution: a wash of warm color! This custom blend looks perfect under my Peachy Keen Complexion and warmed this little baby right up! Hades is catching a quick nap after a long reborning journey. :)
A gorgeous reborn manicure deserves a little shine! A gloss varnish is a great way to highlight the nails and create the appearance of moisture on the lips, nostrils and eyelids. I'll gloss his lips after I'm done rooting.
Hades is being created from Easton, by Michelle Fagan. well, with the painting part anyway. :) Once we add his skin texturing and sealant, this little guy will be ready for rooting!
Before adding my blushing layers, I took the time to paint each and every little crease and wrinkle on Hades. Creasing creates the illusion of depth and makes the doll look less like vinyl and more like skin. It takes hours to get every little crease. So time-consuming, but so worth it! You can real see the difference in the Before and After photos below - one creased limb next to one without creases painted:
I'm pleased to announce that I be reborning Raleigh by Marita Winters! I don't usually acquire inventory for babies on my Wait List until it's time to get started. But we couldn't let this limited edition sweetie sell out on us!
To further create the look of blood flowing under baby's skin, I like to paint veins on the head, hands and feet. I also go back and shade key areas in my vein blue color so the doll has the look of a baby's thin skin.
